A steady hand with documents that matter
Solenne was founded on a simple idea: that people approaching retirement deserve plain, unhurried help with the paperwork side of things.
Back to HomeQuietly helping people get their paperwork in order
Solenne grew out of a conversation that kept repeating itself. People who had lived and worked in Thailand for years would find themselves surrounded by documents they could not quite name, forms they were unsure how to file, and a general feeling that important things might be slipping through the gaps. They were not looking for advice — they already had advisers for that. What they needed was someone to sit with them, go through the folders, and make sense of what was there.
That is what Solenne does. We work with expatriates and long-term residents in and around Hua Hin who want their retirement-related records properly organised and clearly understood. Our role is educational and organisational: we explain, we label, we sort, and we provide printed materials you can keep. We never advise on financial or legal matters, and we never push you towards any particular course of action.
The name Solenne — meaning solemn or considered in French — reflects the care we bring to each session. This is not a hurried service. It is a quiet, practical one.
Making the ordinary parts of retirement feel manageable
Clarity over complexity
We translate officialdom into plain language, breaking each document type down into something you can actually use.
Neutral, informational only
We have no financial products to sell and no preferred providers to recommend. Our only interest is helping you get organised.
Respect for your pace
Some people want to move through things quickly; others need time to absorb each step. Both are entirely fine with us.
Small team, careful work
Each member of the Solenne team brings a background that informs the way we approach document organisation and plain-language explanation.
Catherine Moreau
Founder & Lead Adviser
Catherine spent over a decade working in document management for international organisations before moving to Hua Hin. She founded Solenne to fill a quiet gap she kept seeing in the expatriate community.
James Prentice
Programme Coordinator
James coordinates sessions and handles the printed materials side of the business. His background in adult education means he knows how to present information at a comfortable pace.
Nattaporn Apinya
Client Relations
Nattaporn is often the first point of contact for new enquiries. She is fluent in Thai and English and helps bridge any gaps between local official processes and our clients' understanding of them.
Standards we hold ourselves to
Strict confidentiality
Any documents you share with us during a session are treated with complete discretion. We do not retain copies without your explicit agreement.
Clear written records
After each session we provide a brief written summary of what was covered. Nothing is left ambiguous — you always leave with a clear picture of the next step.
No conflict of interest
Solenne has no commercial relationships with financial institutions, legal firms, or pension providers. Our guidance is entirely impartial.
Up-to-date reference materials
We review our printed glossaries and organiser templates regularly to reflect changes in official terminology and common documentation standards.
Personal data handled carefully
Contact details and session notes are stored securely and never shared with third parties. You can read the full approach in our Privacy Policy.
Questions are always welcome
There is no such thing as an inconvenient question during a Solenne session. If something needs more time, we take more time.
Retirement document organisation in Hua Hin
People who settle in Thailand for their later years often find that the paperwork side of retirement requires more attention than they expected. Documents arrive from different countries, in different formats, referencing different systems. Understanding what each one means — and where it should be kept — is not always straightforward.
Solenne works with residents of Hua Hin and the surrounding area who want a clearer picture of their personal document situation. We focus on organisation and plain-language explanation: creating labelled folders, describing what different document categories typically contain, and helping people understand the general processes associated with retirement-related paperwork.
Our Plain-Language Information Series is particularly suited to those who are a few years from retirement and want to build a solid understanding before decisions need to be made. The Household Archive Programme, meanwhile, is designed for those who want their entire collection of important records organised in a way that relatives could navigate easily if needed.
All of Solenne's work sits firmly in the educational and organisational space. We do not hold any financial services permissions, and we do not make recommendations about pensions, investments, insurance, or any related products. For those areas, we always suggest speaking with a suitably qualified professional — and we can help you prepare the questions you might want to ask them.
